The American College of Building Arts hosted its annual Red Party at the Charleston Old City Jail.  This year we were taken back to 18th century France for a decadent masquerade party. Deserts and morsels abound.

The guest came dressed in their finest lace with coiffures to die for.   Aristocrats from near and far attended. The event his held every year to raise money for the college. This year’s celebration will be the last to be held at the jail and although the farewell was bitter sweet, the sweetness of the event was ever so delicious.

Delicious food was prepared by top restaurants including Glazed, Saveurs du Monde, Cake Pops, Twenty Six Divine, Sugar, P.I.E. , Vanilla Bean Company, MOSAIC, Duvall Express, Home Team BBQ, Basico, and one of my personal favorites Dells Uptown. The air was a waft with not only the aroma of delicious food. Spirits and melodies were abundant. I had to opportunity to stop by and see the cocktail bandits and sample a delicious blend of bourbon with a citrus overtone. The Zero George Cocktail party also kept our spirits up. Entropy Ensemble  provided the live music for this soiree in Versailles that was an eclectic mix of traditional sounds and electronica.

DJ C. Nile and Seth G provided the energy once the band stopped playing. In VIP, Michel Berda and I got shot portraits for friends and lovers all with interesting results.  Portraits shot by Michel Berda can be purchased here. 10% of all sales will go towards the school.

My night in France was enjoyable but ended all too soon. This was one of the best events of the year and I can’t wait to see where the American College of Building Arts will take us next year.
